Depois dos espetáculos Saltimbanco, Alegria e Quidam, o Cirque du Soleil volta este ano ao Brasil para a sua quarta temporada, dessa vez com o espetáculo Varekai, criado e dirigido por Dominic Champagne. A novaturnê brasileira tem início dia 15 de setembro de 2011 e passará por oito cidades do Brasil, começando por São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Belo Horizonte, Brasília, Recife, Salvador, Curitiba e Porto Alegre.

O espetáculo Varekai fez sua primeira estréia em 2002, já visitou passou por 55 cidades pelo mundo e já foi visto por mais de seis milhões de pessoas.  O Show Varekai é um espetáculo de malabares, trapezistas,vôos nas alturas, contorcionismo, e palhaços, contando com enredo, cenário e vestuário próprios, bem como música (ouvir as música do show aqui) ao vivo durante os espetáculos.

O Cirque du Soleil é uma empresa sediada em Quebec/Canadá, reconhecida mundialmente por seus espetáculos artísticos de alta qualidade, com mais de 5.000 funcionários e artistas de mais de 40 países, incluindo brasileiros. O que é Varekai
O espetáculo “Varekai” (que significa ‘em qualquer lugar’), e conta a história do Ícaro, um jovem rapaz que podia voar e que, ao se aproximar do sol, teve suas asas derretidas. E sem poder voar, aterrissa em uma floresta mágica, no ponto mais alto de um vulcão, em um mundo habitado por criaturas fantásticas. Lá conhece uma jovem misteriosa e também conhece os guardas de Varekai, que lideram a tribo e competem entre si. A trilha sonora é composta por músicas de diferentes culturas de países diferentes.
